Experience the thrill of the Italian mountains, enjoy the delicious food and share the passion of the country with the locals.
If you enjoy the fresh alpine air, riding the switchbacks and lunching on top of the mountains enjoying home-cooked food, Italy won’t disappoint. From the heights of the Dolomites to the twisties in Trentino, down to Lake Garda and of course, the famous Stelvio Pass we will cover them all.
Of course, getting to Italy means we cross France, Germany and Austria which means we will have a mix of motorways and fun, scenic roads to ride before we even reach Italy.
We will leave the UK early on 8th June from Folkestone on a Channel Tunnel train and spend the first day on the French motorways with an overnight stop in the Vosges National Park. This area is beautiful with incredible roads and a destination worthy in its own right. We will ride some of these roads before we hit the faster roads to get to Garmish Partenkirchen for an overnight stay.
On day 3 we reach Italy where we spend the next 4 days exploring the Dolomites, riding their famous passes including Fedaia Pass (the film location for the 2003 Italian Job film) which sits at the northern base of the Marmolada (the Queen of the Dolomites), the highest peak in the region and the Dolomiti.
We’ll explore the Trentino region with hills full of grape vines grown by the local winemakers, we’ll stay overnight on the shores of Lake Garda and ride the “Quantum of Solace” James Bond road.
On the return leg, we’ll head into Switzerland passing St Moriz, riding Bernina Pass and back to Italy for the overnight stay before heading home via Stelvio Pass, Lake Konstanz and more of the French Vosges roads.
We will be arriving in Folkestone in the late afternoon/evening of 16th June when the tour ends.
