Slovenia is a real hidden gem of a country for motorcyclist. Fairly well known for its stunning Alpine roads, romantic coastal town of Piran, the wine growing region and the famous caves plus much, much more.
For the majority of British motorcyclists, Slovenia is mostly used as a passing country on the way to the Balkans with maybe a quick pit stop at Lake Bled and maybe Ljubljana.
This is a great way to explore this small and beautiful country. We will ride some amazing roads in Germany, Austria and Italy on the way to and from Slovenia. The route is circular to include as many different sights and roads as we can pack into a 9-day journey.
But it’s not just a race to Slovenia and back. It’s a tour of some of the most amazing roads and sights in Europe with 3 days in Slovenia alone. On the way there we will ride the famous Black Forest B500 road in Germany. Stop over in the German Bavarian region before we head to Austria and ride the Grossglockner Pass. We have 3 days discovering Slovenia before we start the return leg of the trip via the Italian Dolomites. This is just scratching the surface of what Slovenia has to offer. We will ride in the Alps, stay the night at a vinery with a visit to their wine cellar and stop in the coastal town of Piran to admire its Venetian Gothic architecture. The return journey via the Dolomites will put us en route to Stelvio Pass, which is a must to visit before we head north and then east back to Calais.
All routes are shared in advance of the tour and I do not insist that we all have to ride as a group all of the time. If you prefer a brisker pace or indeed, a slower one, you are free to peel off whenever you wish to. This is your tour and I will do all I can to make it fun, interesting and enjoyable. Ultimately it’s about you having a great experience and if that means you ride on your own for a while, or decide on a detour, you are free to do so. All I ask is that you communicate this with me before we set off on the next leg, not just disappear.
